LEAF Schools & Streets brings global arts education to Asheville-area youth through in-school residencies, after-school programs, and community workshops led by a growing roster of Resident Teaching Artists — covering Hip Hop, music appreciation, African diaspora drumming and dance, theatre, and media arts — alongside Visiting Teaching Artists from around the world who bring culturally rooted performance and mentorship to local classrooms. LEAF and Buncombe County Schools are also Kennedy Center Partners in Education, a national recognition that integrates arts across all areas of learning, and every partnership directly supports Teaching Artist compensation, supplies, training, and production.
