Q: What are the chances of my application being accepted?
A: Chances vary, depending upon the number and variety of applicants per festival. More people apply in spring than in fall. We try to rotate our returning artists and also accept some new artists each time to keep the festival fresh and slightly different each time and to give everyone a turn to come and bring their unique contribution. If you have specifically violated LEAF policy you will not likely be accepted.
Q: Does LEAF pay Healing Artists?
A: No. You will get a weekend pass valued at $125, but no monetary payment.
Q: Will LEAF feed me?
A: No. Your food is your responsibility.
Q: Do I get a guest?
A: No. Booth practitioners can pre-purchase up to 2 half-price assistant tickets. Workshop presenters cannot purchase assistant tickets. LEAF offers very affordable childcare at Elfhaven Lodge.
Q: Can my family/friends buy their tickets at the gate?
A: NOT LIKELY. The festival grounds has a legal maximum occupancy limit and we usually sell out before the festival. It is strongly advised that anyone planning to arrive with you should pre-purchase tickets. This can be done on-line or by calling the LEAF office, which saves money on issuance fees.
Q: Where can I camp?
A: Booth practitioners can camp in or behind their booth IF space permits. Otherwise, all Healing Artists should park in normal designated tent camping areas. If you want to car-camp, you can purchase a car-camping or RV pass for $40-$90. There are also rentable cabin spaces. Call the LEAF office to make special arrangements.
Q: Where can I park?
A: Booth practitioners can have ONE vendor-parking pass if needed. All other Healing Artistes and Assistants should park in normal weekend parking unless you are not camping, in which we have 2 day parking areas. You will need to confirm day parking preference closer to festival time.
Q: When can I come?
A: Booth practitioners and assistants can check in and set up camp on Thursday during check-in hours only (12-6pm). Workshop presenters can check in and set up camp starting Friday at 8AM. Gate-check hours will be listed on the “Confirmed Registration Form”.
Q: Where do I get a “Confirmed Registration Form”?
A: If your application is accepted, you will receive an Acceptance Packet including the “Confirmed Registration Form” in the mail. You will need to fill out this form and send it back to LEAF.
Q: How will I know when I am accepted?
A: We are no longer sending out acceptance packets by mail. Instead, all correspondence (confirmations, scheduling, etc.) will be done via email (honoring LEAF going GREENER!)
Q: When will our sent fees be deposited?
A: Upon ACCEPTANCE these checks will be deposited. Please have your accounts ready.
Q: What if my plans change and I cannot come to LEAF?
A: Please contact us. Unfortunately, there are NO refunds for application fees or booth fees. Workshop presenters who will not be coming MUST NOTIFY us BEFORE the festival. We are no longer taking deposits along with the application (application fees still remain); however, if you are accepted and fail to show, you will be invoiced for the entire ticket price. We appreciate your understanding.
Q: Can I offer free-roaming services or practice from my campsite?
A: Absolutely NOT! Any commerce of any sort must be legitimized via LEAF policies prior to the festival. Any unapproved vending of any sort will result in the offender being fined and/or losing festival privileges. DON’T DO IT!
Q: What if I have books/ tapes/ cds/ DVDs for sale that relate to my workshop?
A: If this media is your own creative work and NOT something you purchased wholesale or copied from someone else, then you CAN sell it THRU LEAF’s TUNETOWN ONLY. LEAF will extract a small and reasonable percentage. Details to arrange this are given in the Acceptance Packet. You can give FREE information handouts in your class. You CANNOT ask for a donation for these.
Q: Does LEAF provide yoga mats or other teaching aids?
A: No. You can bring some to share at your own risk, but it is better to come prepared to modify stretches for mixed skill levels than to rely on aids. LEAF2go does sell yoga mats at an affordable price.
Q: Why do Healing Arts booths cost less than handcrafts booths?
A: We recognize that there is a limit to the amount of business a service-oriented booth can do in a day.
Q: Can I share a booth with a friend or partner?
A: There is a discounted rate for Healing Arts practitioners who share a booth space. Handcrafters who share a booth pay full price per artist. Shared Healing Arts booths cannot sell any products.
